A Momentous Moment
It was a gut reaction:
She said we could exercise
Wheels set in motion:
Finding place, making plans.
Green space: accessible, sheltered?
Covid acceptable toilet!
It was an out-of-body experience,
My automatic was in full drive.
There literally was no other choice:
Such was the dearth in our connection,
Bone-weary from isolation and restriction.
Such was the momentum of this
It was an utter delight to see
Eleven brave women step forward,
Clad in fleece, hats and trainers.
Tentatively moving & breathing
In the cool March air.
Broken connections repairing,
And smiling, smiling, smiling.
To the momentum of this
